WISDOM ATTAINED THROUGH OBSERVANCE OF HUMAN BEHAVIOR PATTERNS SHOULD BE USED TO DEVELOP METHODS FOR TREATING JUVENILE OFFENDERS AND PREVENTING JUVENILE CRIME.
Abstract
A JUVENILE ENTERING THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM SHOULD BE TREATED IN THE LEAST RESTRICTIVE MANNER, AND IF PUNISHMENT IS DEEMED NECESSARY, THE LEAST RESTRICTIVE ALTERNATIVE SHOULD BE EMPLOYED. SEX EDUCATION AT HOME OR IN THE SCHOOL, FAMILY TRAINING AND RELATIONSHIP BUILDING COURSES, AND EFFECTIVE PARENTHOOD INSTRUCTION ARE STEPS TOWARD EVENTUAL JUVENILE CRIME CONTROL. ELIMINATION OF POVERTY IS DISCUSSED ALSO AS A PREVENTION MEASURE. WISE APPLICATION OF KNOWLEDGE OF HUMAN BEHAVIOR AND FURTHER RESEARCH INTO THE AREA OF JUVENILE JUSTICE ARE URGED. (DAG)
