This film examines the nature of juvenile graffiti writing, its consequences, and how to prevent it.
Abstract
Phil is bored; Frank is under peer pressure; Charles is having trouble at home and in school; Sam is just an average boy; and Robert is a new boy in the neighborhood who wants to fit into the group. In this film, each of these boys is tempted to write graffiti. Their stories are presented to make a compelling argument against graffiti writing, and the film climaxes with the arrest, trial, and conviction of a young graffitist. The consequences of graffiti writing are trouble for the writer under the law and problems for the writer's family and the community. The film presents a simple mental formula, easily understood by any juvenile, that can stem the impulse toward graffiti writing. (Publisher abstract modified)
