THIS PAPER EXAMINES THE THEORY OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN CRIME AND ECONOMIC CONDITIONS DEVELOPED BY THE DUTCH CRIMINOLOGIST WILLEM ADRIAAN BONGER IN HIS 1905 WORK 'CRIMINALITY AND ECONOMIC CONDITIONS'.
Abstract
BONGER'S SOCIAL THEORY IS EXAMINED THROUGH HIS INTERPRETATION OF MARXISM WHICH THE AUTHOR ARGUES QUALITATIVELY CHANGES MARXIST THEORY. BONGER'S THEORY OF DARWINISM IS ANALYZED THROUGH HIS CRITIQUE OF SOCIAL DARWINISTS. THE FINAL SECTION OF THE PAPER CRITIQUES BONGER'S ANALYSIS OF THE ETIOLOGY OF RAPE AND INDECENT ASSAULT.
