Abstract
Commitments are recorded by type of offense, age, race, sex, jail, commitment county or city, and commitment month. Tables present jail commitments and prisoner days by month and over a 10-year period and analyses of local jails' capacity and population. Appendixes present lists of jails used and owned by more than one county or city and localities using other counties' or cities' jails. The report notes that commitments have increased 4.2 percent over last year.
