This 1996 catalog contains some 35 organizations that represent the full spectrum of expertise in juvenile justice and delinquency prevention in the areas of training and technical assistance under grants and contracts awarded by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.
Abstract
The catalog is divided into eight primary sections. Section 1, "Provider Profiles," contains brief descriptions of training and technical assistance grantees and contractors, and Section II, "Overarching Projects," describes programs that provide training and technical assistance in all four of the OJJDP program categories, including public safety and law enforcement; strengthening the juvenile justice system; delinquency prevention and intervention; and missing, exploited, and abused children. Section III, "Public Safety and Law Enforcement," describes programs that support the linkage between community and law enforcement responses to youth and gun violence. Section IV, "Strengthening the Juvenile Justice System," describes programs that improve the juvenile justice system and facilitate effective allocation of system resources. Section V, "Delinquency Prevention and Intervention," describes programs that prevent or reduce the occurrence of juvenile offenses, both criminal and noncriminal, and that intervene immediately and effectively when delinquent or status offenses first occur. The section on missing, exploited, and abused children profiles programs that recognize that children are often the victims of violence and neglect, and section VII lists training workshops and conferences conducted or to be conducted by OJJDP contractors and grantees in 1996. Section VIII contains a listing of the phone numbers of contractors, grantees, and OJJDP contacts.
