Abstract
IN 1975 AND 1976, THE NATIONAL COUNCIL ON CRIME AND DELINQUENCY HELD TWO FIVE-DAY NATIONAL PAROLE INSTITUTES AND THREE THREE-DAY PAROLE POLICY SEMINARS. THE GATHERINGS DREW REPRESENTATION FROM NEARLY EVERY STATE PAROLE BOARD. THEY ALSO INCLUDED EXAMINING NEW PROCEDURES TO IMPLEMENT RECENT SUPREME COURT DECISIONS, AND PROVIDING A PUBLICATION VEHICLE FOR THE SHARING OF PLANNED OR IMPLEMENTED CHANGES WITHIN THE PAROLE SYSTEMS OF VARIOUS STATES. IN A POLL AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE MEETINGS, PARTICIPANTS ESTIMATED THE VALUE OF THE CONFERENCE AS EIGHT ON A NINE POINT SCALE....BS
