Abstract
The kit is an educational tool to use with both children and parents in helping them develop coping strategies and gain control in responding to the challenge of living with violence. The workbook-based program can stimulate child-adult and child-child dialogue concerning the meaning, rationale, and effects of and alternatives to violence in all facets of children's lives. The videotape examines how violence affects children and what teachers can do to help children learn about violence. The teacher's guide covers specific steps teachers and other professionals can follow in conducting an effective violence prevention program. The activity book for children addresses the meaning of violence, where violence occurs, and what children can do about violence.
