This information system, developed by the Juvenile Information Systems Requirements Analysis Project (JISRA), was designed to record pertinent information about juveniles and allow quick retrieval of that information, including summary statistics for analyzing juvenile court activities.
Abstract
The information system was oriented toward management, to help judges, administrators, and court staff manage their daily workloads. The system was modular in design, useful in both batch and online environments, and tracked both children and events. The system supported five major internal and external capabilities: records management, case management, agency management, outside reporting, and special needs. The system development process and system specifications are detailed, and privacy and confidentiality issues are addressed. Additional information on the JISRA system and a glossary are appended.
