RESPONSIBILITY OF THE JUVENILE COURT IN PREVENTING DELINQUENCY IS DISCUSSED IN RELATION TO THAT OF OTHER GROUPS, SUCH AS THE POLICE AND THE COMMUNITY.
Abstract
INCLUDED IN THE DISCUSSION IS THE STIGMA OF A JUVENILE RECORD, THE PHILOSOPHIES OF THE JUVENILE COURT, AND CURRENT VIEWS ON THE TREATMENT OF CHILD PROBLEMS. THE AUTHOR CONCLUDES THAT THE JUVENILE COURT SYSTEM IS USED MUCH TOO OFTEN AND SUGGESTS THAT IT SHOULD BE RESERVED AS A LAST RESORT.
