Abstract
The text covers the stop and frisk doctrine and its application searches, seizures, and detentions; arrest and probable cause; Miranda warnings; searches incident to arrest; probable cause and warrants; searches of motor vehicles; searches based on consent; the plain view doctrine; exigent searches; inventory searches; and administrative searches. Additional chapters focus on the suppression of illegally seized evidence, the Fifth Amendment and confessions, grand jury indictments, lineups and identification procedures, the Eighth Amendment and the right to bail, plea bargaining, guilty pleas, double jeopardy, the right to a speedy trial, the right to a jury trial, and the right to counsel.
