NCJ Number
152801
Date Published
1994
Length
28 pages
Annotation
This document summarizes State, Federal, and territorial laws that define prostitution.
Abstract
The summaries are designed to provide a reference for persons researching criminal child abuse legislation; they present an abridged and potentially incomplete picture of charging statutes in various States and is intended only as an initial reference. The entries do not include sentencing information for every statute, although this information is occasionally included in the text of statutes annotated here. Only child-specific prostitution statutes that involve the promotion, pandering, patronizing, and pimping of children are included in this compilation. Statutes defining solicitation of a minor for sex are not included unless they deal with child prostitution. Defenses to the crimes are not included in this document.
