The major objective of the study is to examine and assess 10 program description/evaluation reports representing the best of the information in the field of juvenile delinquency prevention.
Abstract
The examination and assessment will entail an overall determination of the replicability of each program description/evaluation report by ratings of the documentation of essential program elements. Additionally, documentation of each program element will be assessed across the 10 program description/evaluation reports to determine areas of strength and/or weakness of the existing information relevant to the replication of delinquency prevention programs. This approach will (1) permit a determination of the utility of 'the best' of the program description/evaluation reports for developing and empirically supporting a multidimensional model program for the prevention of delinquency and/or (2) permit a determination of the specific areas of weakness or insufficient documentation which prohibit the transferability/replicability of previously successful prevention programs and, therefore, provide an indication of their applicability to future program efforts. Tables, figures, and a bibliography are included. (Author abstract modified)
