This issue of OJJDP News @ a Glance focuses on OJJDP's reentry programs and the vital role children's advocacy centers play in responding to cases of child abuse, and introduces a new section titled, "Tribal Connections."
This issue's Message from the Acting OJJDP Administrator commemorates National Child Abuse Prevention Month. The top story focuses on the vital role children's advocacy centers (CACs) play in responding to cases of child abuse; another feature covers the effort by CACs to offer children and families therapy over virtual platforms. Other stories describe OJJDP's efforts to ease individuals' transition from detention or treatment back into their communities, including a feature on a gang-affiliated youth who benefited from an OJJDP-supported reentry program. This issue also marks the debut of @ a Glance's "Tribal Connections" section, which will highlight the accomplishments of Tribal youth, along with funding opportunities, best practices, and resources for Tribes and other organizations serving American Indian and Alaska Native youth.
