The focus of this guide is on mentoring that takes place within a formal mentoring program where staff from the mentoring program officially match each young person with a mentor and provide ongoing supervision of the mentoring relationship. The guide provides information about why mentoring is important and how it can benefit young people; what to look for in a mentoring program and what to expect; and tips to get the most out of the mentoring program.
