This solicitation overview announces the Bureau of Justice Assistance’s FY 2023 Advancing Women Officers in State and Local Law Enforcement: Technical Assistance and Microgrant Program.

Abstract

The Bureau of Justice Assistance encourages agencies that have not received BJA funding before and convening or governing bodies that can apply on behalf of one or more entities to apply for BJA’s FY 2023 Advancing Women Officers in State and Local Law Enforcement: Technical Assistance and Microgrant Program. Organizations that may apply include nonprofits with or without 501(c)(3) status, other than institutions of higher education and institutions of higher education (including tribal institutions of higher education) that have experience in managing and delivering training and technical assistance on complex criminal justice technology implementations at the national and local levels. Successful applicant receive funding to collaboratively administer the 30x30 Initiative in state, local, and tribal law enforcement agencies; provide technical assistance; improve the rigor of data and insights generated through 30x30 participation; and collect and disseminate promising practices and other relevant resources. BJA helps America’s state, local, and tribal jurisdictions reduce and prevent crime, lower recidivism, and promote a fair and safe criminal justice system. BJA provides a wide range of resources—including grants, funding, and training and technical assistance—to law enforcement, courts and corrections agencies, treatment providers, reentry practitioners, justice information sharing professionals, and community-based partners to address chronic and emerging criminal justice challenges nationwide.
