Abstract
The conference brought together consultants, legal and social service professionals, and representatives of the CASA network to address the role of advocates in protecting children. One of the conference options was participation in the Advanced Management Academy, a new training track to help CASA program directors advance their management skills and techniques. The conference also included seminars that addressed such topics as culture and its impact on behavior, volunteer recruitment, outcome measurement, children in court, fundraising, and child psychology. In addition, conference participants could choose to participate in workshops designed to improve program management and volunteer advocacy skills.
