Abstract
The manual explains the positive results of investing in crime prevention and suggests activities for Crime Prevention Month. It includes a sample press release, a sample proclamation for the 1998 Crime Prevention Month, guidelines for making a presentation and publicizing an event, a timeline and list of action steps for planning a crime prevention event, and suggestions for obtaining the resources necessary to conduct an event. The kit also includes a selection of camera-ready crime prevention materials, drug prevention materials, and violence prevention materials designed to be printed or photocopied.
