This report presents evaluation results for three Anti-drug Abuse Act grant-funded drug prevention and treatment programs in Seminole County (Florida).
Abstract
The programs evaluated are the In-jail Assessment and Treatment Program and Juvenile TASC (Treatment Alternatives to Street Crime) component of the Therapeutic Community Enrichment Program (TCEP); the Seminole County Work Release Program; and the Crossroads Intensive Residential Treatment Bed Program. The In- jail Assessment and Treatment Program serves all jail inmates, offenders released on bond, and probationers and parolees who voluntarily request or are court-ordered to receive substance abuse-related screening, assessment, and treatment. The juvenile TCEP involves the use of a full-time specialized juvenile TASC counselor to the second and third year of the in-jail counseling grant. The Seminole County Work Release program operates out of the John E. Polk Correctional Facility in Sanford; the 24-bed program combines traditional residential work release programming with enhanced substance abuse and lifestyles education counseling. The Intensive Residential Treatment Bed Crossroads Alcoholism and Poly-drug Treatment Center is designed to enhance adult offender access to inpatient residential substance abuse treatment and aftercare services. For each of these programs the evaluation provides information and data on program design, program management, service area coverage accountability, service delivery accountability, program outcomes, and issues and recommendations. Data figures accompany the report on each program.
