Abstract
Directory entries were identified by sending survey forms to corrections department directors in both countries. Each entry contains program name, address, telephone number, contact point, geographic area served, parent organization, and a brief program description. Programs are identified in 35 States, the District of Columbia, the U.S. Territories of Guam and Puerto Rico, and eight Canadian provinces. Programs in the United States and Canada that offer national services are also noted. The programs focus on family assistance, family counseling and support, legal services, family integration, crisis intervention, assistance for imprisoned parents, prison fellowship, services for female offenders, religious services, parent education and family development, offender education, and prison visitation. The directory includes both public and private family assistance programs.
