This report presents statistics on Uniform Crime Reports Index offenses reported to Hawaii's police in the first quarter of 1983 as well as statistics on such offenses reported for the same periods of 1981 and 1982.
Abstract
The Index offenses encompassed in the report are criminal homicide and nonnegligent manslaughter, forcible rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, larceny-theft, and auto theft. Aggregate trends in reported Index Crimes for the first quarter of 1983 are compared with the same period in 1982. A similar comparison is made on trends in violent and nonviolent crimes. One statistical table presents the number of Index offenses reported to the police for the first quarter of 1983, according to county. Another table shows the rate of change in violent crimes and nonviolent crimes for the same period compared to the first quarters of 1981 and 1982. Four tables show the aggregate numbers of Index Offenses reported for the first quarter of years 1981-83. The concluding table indicates the percent change in violent and nonviolent crimes by county for the first quarter of 1982 and 1983. Two charts portray the frequency of each of the Index offenses for 1982 and 1983.
