Abstract
FOLLOWING A BRIEF OUTLINE OF THE OBJECTIVES FOR CONDUCTING A PERFORMANCE EVALUATION, THE RATING FACTORS FOR PATROL OFFICERS ARE LISTED AND DESCRIBED. THESE FACTORS INCLUDE PERSONAL APPEARANCE, OBSERVANCE OF WORK SCHEDULES, CARE OF EQUIPMENT, RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHERS, INITIATIVE, ATTITUDE, RELIABILITY, JOB KNOWLEDGE, QUALITY OF WORK, AND EFFECTIVENESS UNDER STRESS. EACH OF THE FACTORS IS ASSIGNED A NUMERICAL RATING FROM ONE TO FIVE, AND THE POINTS FROM EACH INDIVIDUAL FACTOR ARE TOTALED TO GIVE AN OVERALL RATING SCORE. PERFORMANCE FACTORS USED FOR EVALUATING SUPERVISORY PERSONNEL INCLUDE PLANNING AND ORGANIZING, EFFECTIVENESS, EVALUATING SUBORDINATES, LEADERSHIP, OPERATIONAL ECONOMY, AND SUPERVISORY CONTROL.
