STATISTICAL STUDY OF 500 FRENCH JUVENILE DELINQUENTS 14 OR OVER IN TERMS OF HISTORY OF ALCOHOLISM IN THE FAMILY, PHYSICAL CONDITION, SOCIAL ENVIRONMENT, PERSONALITY, TYPES OF OFFENSES COMMITTED AND FAMILY RELATIONS.
Abstract
WHILE AGREEING WITH OTHER WRITERS THAT NO ONE PERSONALITY TYPE CAN BE DESIGNATED AS PREALCOHOLIC, THE AUTHORS STATE THAT SEVERAL SUCH TYPES CAN BE DEFINED. THE STUDY OF THESE TYPES SHOULD MAKE PREDICTION OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF JUVENILES IN THIS RESPECT POSSIBLE. FROM THE CAUSAL POINT OF VIEW, THEY PERCEIVE, AS A RESULT OF THIS STUDY, TWO OVERALL CAUSES OF ALCOHOLISM - ONE ESSENTIALLY SOCIOGENIC AND THE OTHER PSYCHOGENIC. THE VARIOUS FACTORS TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION IN THE STUDY ARE LISTED IN AN APPENDIX. --IN FRENCH
