THROUGH THE DRAMATIZATION OF A SHOPLIFTING SITUATION, THIS FILM DESCRIBES THE EXTENT OF THE SHOPLIFTING PROBLEM, THE HARDSHIPS SHOPLIFTING CAUSES TO STORE OWNERS AND THE PUBLIC, AND THE PENALTIES FOR SHOPLIFTING.
Abstract
INTENDED FOR JUNIOR AND SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL AUDIENCES, THIS FILM SHOWS THREE STUDENTS IN A LARGE DEPARTMENT STORE. ALTHOUGH TEMPTED TO SHOPLIFT, ONE OF THE GIRLS DECIDES AT THE LAST MINUTE THAT IT IS NOT WORTH THE RISK. ALSO EMPHASIZED IN THE FILM ARE THE ELABORATE SECURITY SYSTEMS EMPLOYED TO DETECT SHOPLIFTERS AND THE STORE POLICIES OF PROSECUTING ALL SHOPLIFTERS.
