REPORT ON A YEAR-LONG EVALUATION OF THIS SAN FRANCISCO DELINQUENCY PREVENTION PROGRAM.
Abstract
THE ACTIVITIES AND FUNCTIONS OF 'ENERGY' ARE DISCUSSED IN RELATION TO THE FOLLOWING FOUR TOPICS: THE PREVAILING SAN FRANCISCO DELINQUENCY PREVENTION ATMOSPHERE, THE NATURE OF THE SUNSET, THE 'ENERGY' ORGANIZATIONAL ANALYSIS, AND THE COMMUNITY ATTITUDE TOWARD TROUBLED YOUTH. SEVERAL RECOMMENDATIONS WERE MADE INCLUDING THE NEED FOR MORE OUTREACH CENTERS, REGULAR REPORTS TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS, CLIENT REFERRAL FOLLOW-UP, IMPROVED VOLUNTEER MANAGEMENT, DEVELOPMENT OF 'FAMILY-HEALTH' AWARENESS, AND PATRONIZATION OF SUNSET MERCHANTS. OVERALL, 'ENERGY' WAS FOUND TO BE A 'PRAISEWORTHY' PROGRAM WHICH HAD MATURED MARKEDLY OVER THE PRECEDING YEAR. RESULTS OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD SURVEY REGARDING THE COMMUNITY ATTITUDE TOWARD TROUBLED YOUTH ARE APPENDED TO THIS REPORT.
