THIS ARTICLE DESCRIBES THE INCREASE OF WOMEN IN THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE FIELD.
Abstract
INCREASINGLY, WOMEN ARE BEING EMPLOYED AT ALL LEVELS AND IN ALL SEGMENTS OF THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM-CORRECTIONS, LAW ENFORCEMENT, THE JUDICIARY, PROBATION AND PAROLE, AND AS PROSECUTORS, PUBLIC DEFENDERS, AND PRIVATE CRIMINAL DEFENSE LAWYERS. HOWEVER, THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM MUST BEGIN AN ACCELERATED GAME OF 'CATCH-UP' TO INSURE THAT IT DOES NOT CONTINUE TO IGNORE THE LARGELY UNTAPPED RESOURCE OF WOMEN AS EMPLOYEES. PARTICULARLY WITH THE INCREASING NUMBERS OF ADULT AND JUVENILE FEMALE OFFENDERS, AND THE INCREASING ATTENTION BEING PAID TO FEMALE VICTIMS OF CRIME, ADDITIONAL WOMEN EMPLOYEES, THE ARTICLE ASSERTS, ARE A MUST.
