Abstract
This report is based upon monthly crime and arrest reports submitted by 329 law enforcement agencies throughout Wisconsin. The first half of the report presents statewide information on crime and arrests together with individual sections on Index crimes. The second half of the report contains more detailed crime and arrest information for individual jurisdictions with the State, organized alphabetically by county. Important findings include a 5.7-percent decline in reported Index crimes, a 3.0-percent increase in total adult arrests, and an 8.4-percent increase in total juvenile arrests. Also, the 26.3-percent clearance rate was the highest recorded in the past 10 years. There were major increases in certain arrests including those involving weapon law violations, fraud, drug law violations, runaways, and curfew law violations. The number of sexual assaults, however, increased by 4.7 percent from 1992 to 1993. Tables and maps present an overview of 1992 and 1993 crime and arrests.
