The separatist ideology that motivates skinhead gangs to beat and kill homosexuals, Jews, and nonwhites is explained in terms of the impact of white supremacy.
Abstract
According to the Anti-Defamation League of B'nai B'rith, skinheads have killed 22 victims in the past 3 years. In 1992, they were responsible for 7 deaths, almost 25 percent of all bias-related murders in the United States. White supremacist groups often use skinheads as "front-line troops" in advertising, recruitment, and violent crimes. Skinhead groups include both men and women who actively promote hatred of blacks and other ethnic groups. The author concludes that skinheads represent a violent threat to American communities. He briefly traces the history of the skinhead movement and discusses tenets of skinhead teachings that promote racist beliefs.
