In In Search of Excellence: Lessons from America's Best-Run Companies (Peters and Waterman, 1982), the authors identify eight attributes that characterize excellent American companies.
Abstract
Basically, these attributes can be described as elements of a management philosophy centered on humanism, folklore wisdom, and simple pragmatism. Their applicability to police organizations and the benefits resulting from such an application are discussed. (Author abstract)
