THIS MODEL STRESSES THE INTERRELATED NATURE OF SOCIETY AND THE INVOLVEMENT OF THE WHOLE COMMUNITY IN TRYING TO CREATE AN ENVIRONMENT IN WHICH CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR IS DISCOURAGED BY IMPROVING THE COMMUNITY ITSELF.
Abstract
THE ECOLOGICAL MODEL CONCEIVES OF THE CORRECTIONAL VOLUNTEER AS WORKING WITH THE OFFENDER IN THE CONTEXTS IN WHICH HE LIVES (FAMILY, FRIENDS, NEIGHBORHOOD, AND CITY), RATHER THAN AS A ONE-TO-ONE THERAPIST.
