THIS PRACTICAL GUIDE, FIRST PUBLISHED IN 1968, IS DESIGNED FOR THOSE PLANNING TO BEGIN VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS IN VARIOUS TYPES OF AGENCIES AND ORGANIZATIONS; FOR DIRECTORS OF VOLUNTEERS WHO WISH TO IMPROVE THEIR SKILLS IN RECRUITING, TRAINING AND DEVELOPING VOLUNTEERS; FOR BOARDS AND COMMITTEES WHO NEED TO DEVELOP DECISION-MAKING AND COMMUNCATION SKILLS; AND FOR STAFF MEMBERS OR SUPERVISORS OF VOLUNTEERS WHO MAY NEED TO BETTER UNDERSTAND THE PROBLEM-SOLVING AND EDUCATIONAL ASPECTS OF SUPERVISION AND THE TEACHING-LEARNING PROCESS.
