VisionQuest, is a wilderness experience geared to juvenile delinquents and juvenile offenders aged 10 to 21 who need an individualized treatment program to address their psychological, behavioral, educational, and health needs.
Abstract
VisionQuest includes wilderness camping programs and the 'Wagon Train' which takes angry, aggressive youths on a 3-4 month journey that demands accountability and discipline. Other components are group homes, community-based learning centers, and HomeQuest, where social service agencies and courts can work together with VisionQuest to ensure that the participant is treated at home. The report discusses placement standards, intake procedures, assessment criteria, program planning, and other program elements. Diagrams are included.
