THE USE OF LATEX PARTICLES SENSITIZED WITH IMMUNOGLOBULINS DIRECTED AGAINST HUMAN SERUM PROTEINS, TO ESTABLISH THE SPECIES ORIGIN OF BLOODSTAINS.
Abstract
WHEN SUCH LATEX PARTICLES ARE MIXED WITH SOLUBLE ANTIGEN, AGGLUTINATION EASILY VISIBLE TO THE NAKED EYE, WILL OCCUR, THUS INDICATING HUMAN ORIGIN. THIS METHOD IS NOT MORE SPECIFIC THAN OTHER WELL ESTABLISHED TECHNIQUES USING PRECIPITATING ANTISERA BUT DOES OFFER A RAPID MEANS FOR THE SPECIES IDENTIFICATION OF FLUIDS AND STAIN EXTRACTS.
