Abstract
THE HISTORY AND GRADUAL ADAPTATION OF PROGRAMMED INSTRUCTION FOR CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTIONS IS TRACED FROM 1961 TO ITS CURRENT USE AT DRAPER CORRECTIONAL CENTER. THE CONTINGENCY MANAGEMENT PROCESS WHICH POSITIVELY REINFORCES A STUDENT FOR AN APPROPRIATE RESPONSE IS ANALYZED. RECOMMENDATIONS ARE INCLUDED ON PLANNING AND OPERATING A PROGRAMMED INSTRUCTION EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM.
