The sentences imposed in the 95 U.S. district courts were compiled to provide U.S. probation officers more specific offenses and sentences to use in their presentence reports to judges. They cover imprisonment, probation, split sentences, fines only, and others (i.e., deportation, sentences suspended, etc.).
Abstract
Sentences are displayed according to the titles and sections for which convictions were obtained. Each entry represents the total sentence imposed on one defendant in one case. The offense shown is the one for which the longest term was imposed. The report presents instructions on how to locate and interpret specific sentencing data using the coded information. A list of offense codes is appended.
