General information about attorney and law student employment addresses application procedures, employment conditions, the attorney's function in the Department of Justice, employment benefits, accommodations to employees with disabilities, promotion policy/performance appraisal, and law student programs. Detailed information is provided on each of the organizations within the Justice Department. Information on the Office of Legal Education profiles the Attorney General's Advocacy Institute and the Legal Education Institute. Tasks and responsibilities are described for the Office of the Attorney General and the Executive Direction and Management Offices. Most of the legal responsibilities described come under the litigation divisions. These are the Antitrust Division, the Civil Division, the Civil Rights Division, the Criminal Division, the Environment and Natural Resources Division, and the Tax Division. Responsibilities are also described for the Legal and Policy Offices and the Investigatory and Law Enforcement Offices. Information encompasses salaries and employee services. Directories are provided for the field office locations that employ attorneys, legal hiring contacts for U.S. Attorneys' Offices, the Federal Bureau of Investigation field offices, and contacts for submission of resumes under the Experienced Attorney Employment Program.
