THE USE OF GENERAL SYSTEMS ANALYSIS AS A RESEARCH FRAMEWORK FOR THE STUDY OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE IS PROPOSED.
Abstract
CURRENT RESEARCH EFFORTS ARE PRIMARILY ORIENTED TOWARDS SPECIFIC AGENCY AND TOPICAL CONCERNS. THE TRANS-AGENCY NATURE OF THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE PROCESS TENDS TO BE OBSCURED AND USEFUL INTER-DISCIPLINARY RESEARCH IS IMPEDED. THIS ESSAY MAINTAINS THAT OPEN SYSTEMS ANALYSIS PROVIDES A BASIS FOR INTER-DISCIPLINARY STUDIES WHICH WILL SERVE TO STIMULATE RESEARCH AND TEACHING THAT WILL VIEW THE VARIOUS PROBLEMS OF THE ADMINISTRATION OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE IN AN INTERRELATED AND INTERDEPENDENT FASHION.
