THIS ARTICLE DISCUSSES THE PSYCHOLOGICALLY-DERIVED THEORIES OF DELINQUENCY OF THREE RESEARCHERS.
Abstract
THE THEORIES INVOLVE THOSE OF ASENATH PETRIE, HANS EYSENCK, AND WILLIAM SHELDON. PETRIE'S THEORY ASSERTS THAT DELINQUENCY IS DETERMINED BY WHETHER AN INDIVIDUAL POSSESSES SENSITIVITY TO PAIN. EYSENCK'S THEORY CONTENDS THAT PERSONALITY CAN BE DESCRIBED USING ONLY TWO DIMENSIONS: NEUROTICISM OR EXTRAVERSION-INTROVERSION. SHELDON'S THEORY BELIEVES THAT BODY BUILD DETERMINES PERSONALITY. THE AUTHOR SAYS THAT THE THREE THEORIES ARE MORE ALIKE THAN DIFFERENT....BDS
