Abstract
Each chapter includes 10-50 strategies in major topical areas: public education, community mobilization, youth, law enforcement and community linkages, safe and attractive public places, economic development, violence, drugs, bias crimes, and property crime. The chapters highlight the crime problem addressed, central components, partnerships, potential obstacles, and signs of success for each strategy and profile established programs that use the strategies. A reference bibliography concludes each chapter and offers opportunities for further research. The last section contains a resource guide providing information on dozens of national, State, and local groups that provide resources and program examples. Index and address and telephone number of each program profiled
