Annotation
The principles and policies currently operating within the juvenile justice system, particularly those embodied in the 1982 Criminal Justice Act, mean that the traditionally clear demarcation between juvenile offenders and other older offender groups has become blurred.
Abstract
One implication of this trend is the need to re-examine the rationale for continuing with a distinctive juvenile court. Arguments for the abolition of the juvenile court are examined with the intention of opening a debate as to what the rationale for such a distinctive tribunal is. (Author abstract)
