The focus of this paper is on helping the lifestyle criminal change from being a self-centered, irresponsible, predatory individual to one who can function within reasonable limits as established by society.
Abstract
In this paper the treatment process is divided into three primary phases (assessment, intervention, followup), although it is recognized that every therapeutic relationship is unique and should take into account the individual characteristics of the therapist, offender, and environment in which treatment takes place. The assessment and intervention phases of treatment are further subdivided in order to reflect the importance of the lifestyle analysis, developmental assessment, and cognitive profile in bringing about meaningful change.
