This bibliography covers English-language literature on the subject of terrorism published between 1980 and 1990, and arranges the items in subject categories. Each chapter is divided by subsections and each subsection is divided by form, i.e., book, journal articles, and documents and reports. Entries in each subsection are arranged alphabetically.
Abstract
The section containing reference works includes chronologies of terrorist incidents, a list of bibliographies, indexes and abstracts, a list of on-line databases, and a list of periodicals which are mainly devoted to the study of terrorism. The General Works section is comprised of materials on definitions of terrorism, historical overviews, and general studies and descriptions of terrorism. The chapters devoted to specific subjects cover psychological and social aspects of terrorism, strategies and tactics, countermeasures, domestic and international law, the media and terrorism, and unconventional terrorist threats. The final chapter covers all aspects of terrorism with an emphasis on geographic location and specific terrorist incidents; the chapter is arranged by continent, State, and incident. Author and subject indexes are also included.
