THE TEXAS LAW ENFORCEMENT TELETYPE NETWORK (TLETN) WAS FOUND THAT MODELING AND SIMULATION TECHNIQUES CAN HELP IN PLANNING THE NECESSARY CHANGES IN EQUIPMENT AND ORGANIZATION FOR A RAPIDLY EXPANDING SYSTEM.
Abstract
THERE ARE FOUR BASIC ADVANTAGES TO THIS APPROACH: FIRST, TO OBTAIN PRESENT PERFORMANCE MEASURES THAT CANNOT OTHERWISE BE OBTAINED; SECOND, TO PREDICT FUTURE PERFORMANCE OF THE EXISTING SYSTEM; THIRD, TO HELP ESTABLISH AND EVALUATE SYSTEM PERFORMANCE STANDARDS; AND FINALLY, TO EVALUATE THE EFFECTS OF PROPOSED SYSTEM CHANGES BEFORE THEY ARE IMPLEMENTED.
