Abstract
Legal considerations related to torts, evidence, and agency relationships are explained. Types of witnesses and methods of obtaining oral statements and written reports are detailed. Governmental and business sources of information are listed, together with an outline of sources for safety standards and guidelines on forensic photography. Specific types of investigations covered include traffic accident investigations, aircraft accident investigations, personal negligence investigations, employment accidents, and premises accidents. The advice also covers governmental investigations, products liability investigation, professional malpractice investigation, criminal defense investigation, and investigation of equity matters. Procedures for service of legal process are also explained. Photographs, diagrams, forms, and samples of letters and reports are included.
