This paper analyzes the recent trend in victimology concerning its metamorphosis from a 'victimology of act' to a 'victimology of action.'
Abstract
This new dimension, extended to the interactive behavior of the subjects and to the consideration of the situation in its universality, cannot take place without the substantial contribution of the principles elaborated by the general systems theory and the findings of the attribution theory. The authors propose an interpretation of rape in the light of those mechanisms whose functions can be tested also in the criminal justice system where the issues of responsibility, intention and causality reach their climax.
