This document contains data on indictments, felony dispositions, and pending felonies in New York State in 1991 and 1992.
Abstract
Totals are shown for the State, each region (New York City; Suburban NYC; and Upstate, Other) and each county within New York City (New York, Bronx, Kings, Queens, and Richmond). Statewide, from 1991 to 1992, indictments dropped 2.0 percent, from 78,354 to 76,772. Felony dispositions dropped 4.1 percent, from 82,138 to 78,779. Total pending felony cases increased 1.8 percent, from 24,817 to 25,256. Pending felony cases of 6 months or more increased 12.2 percent, from 8,609 to 9,661. Pending sentence cases increased by 1.9 percent, from 9,575 to 9,755. Bar graphs show how the two years compare on a term-by-term basis. Trends for judge days vs. dispositions are shown as well.
