The Stockholm Project is a research and action project that aims to determine the nature and relative importance of the factors that cause juvenile delinquency in urban areas of Sweden.
Abstract
The project includes a general base project focusing on delinquency and urbanization, together with several specialized subprojects. The subprojects focus on delinquency in the city center, local centers, and public transportation; the role of the neighborhood and socialization in delinquency; the role of the schools and housing; delinquency among youth from immigrant families; the role of the physical design of residential districts; the role of the police; and the role of social service agencies. The research uses data from official records, surveys, and observations. The action project will include a survey of existing and potential resources in Stockholm and an action program.
