This document presents statistical tables on drug seizures and drug offenders in the United Kingdom each year from 1986 through 1996; the tables form a supplement to a main statistical bulletin.
Abstract
Introductory notes correct errors in the main bulletin and explain specific tables, methodological issues, and legal and methodological changes that have affected the statistics during the period covered in the tables. Individual tables present data on seizures of controlled drugs, the organization doing the seizure, and year, as well as data on seizures of specific types of drugs by specific agencies. Additional tables describe drug offenders with respect to their age, sex, and action taken in 1996; the sentences or orders given to male and female drug offenders, and the offenses committed by offenders given specific types of sentences.
