Abstract
THE ANALYSIS OF THE USE AND VALUE OF VOICEPRINT IDENTIFICATION INCLUDES A DISCUSSION OF COURT ACCEPTANCE OF THE TECHNIQUE AS ADMISSIBLE EVIDENCE. RECOMMENDATIONS ARE MADE REGARDING INCREASING THE VALIDITY AND GENERAL ACCEPTANCE OF VOICEPRINT IDENTIFICATION BY ESTABLISHING A SCIENTIFIC BASIS FOR THE IDENTIFICATION PROCESS, USING COMPUTER AIDS, AND SETTING STANDARDS FOR RECORDING EQUIPMENT.
