This CD-ROM presents more than 1,800 tables of statistical data for 1994-96 on the characteristics of the criminal justice systems, public attitudes toward crime and criminal justice, the nature and distribution of known offenses, characteristics of persons arrested, case processing, and persons under correctional supervision.
Abstract
The data in each edition of the sourcebook are organized in six topical sections. Each edition also includes a subject index. The CD-ROM is accessible for Windows, Macintosh, and UNIX computers. The booklet and one of the CD-ROM files contain instructions on viewing, searching, or printing the data files. The instructions note that the Adobe Acrobat Reader must be used, and explain how to install this program. They also explain how to navigate through the CD-ROM, how to identify information, and how to locate individual tables.
