This article examines the relationship between the degree of organization of a gang and its delinquent behavior.
Abstract
This study reveals that: (1) severely delinquent gangs can have a relatively high degree of organization; and (2) such gangs can go through phases of organization and disorganization and increases and decreases of solidarity. The study is an attempt to illuminate some of the ways in which variations in group activity are related to internal processes of the group and variations in group structure over time.
